Blessed Are the Pure of Heart
23 x 23” Framed fiber collage with free-style machine stitching. This image is of the flag already framed, so you will see some reflection in the glass. This, I feel is ok with this particular prayer flag, because the flag is unique in that it is mounted onto a mirror. The entire flag is translucent, so some of the mirror reflects even through the flag, the observer. Blessed are the Pure of Heart has one “circle of life” imposed over another, each differently perfect in their imperfections, just as are we all. It was inspired by my husband who was the embodiment of Joy, yet was taken slowly and then abruptly by mental illness. It is believed that if one stares long enough at a “circle of life,” it becomes a portal to other dimensions. Indeed, it at least created an optical illusion of one. There is so much about this that one who is pure of heart might find absolutely irresistible. In our own earnest living out our lives, we all are reflected in this prayer flag.
